Unbelieveable! ~ A Song of Lunch

Many of you may remember my post entitled Did you see this?
about a BBC UK production of the amazingly brilliant poem / play entitled
 'A Song of Lunch'
starring Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson.

When I looked it up as a DVD purchase I discovered that it is only available as a US import!
I emailed the BBC shop and they effectively replied:

Can't help you!...

My response: Unbelievable!

Have you read A Song of Lunch by Christopher Reid?

  1. Hi Madeleine .. I haven't heard of this before .. but them I'm not v knowledgeable re poetry and at that stage life was difficult .. It certainly sounds a very interesting DVD to own .. I hope you get it .. regardless of the American aspect - I expect it was cheaper to produce out there ..

Enjoy listening to it when it arrives ... cheers Hilary

    1. Thanks Hilary, I feel sure you would enjoy it. It is very clever. A drama in poetry instead of prose. Excellent.

  2. I haven't, but I enjoy both Rickman and Thompson's work -- so I'll be on the lookout.
