It was inspired by a comment by L.G.Smith http://bardsandprophets.blogspot.com/ that she has 'a Current Projects page that shows what she's working on, but not many people notice it' and I thought Of course, most of us pop over, read the current post and hop to the next blog. So this post is about my tabs.
Home obviously takes you to the regular posts.
Writer's CV tells you lots about me and my writing Journey/ goals
Published Stuff shows you what I've had accepted for publication to-date.
Romance follows my journey into the genre.
Bookshelf shares with you my favourite authors and recommends some great how to books.
Blog Awards showcases all the lovely awards I have received, who by with links to posts.
Blogfest gives links to the blogfest challenges I have entered /hosted
Soap Box tells the tale of my poor father's decline into Alzheimer's.
I hope you enjoy browsing through them.
Do you have lots of tabs on your blog?
Do you find you don't always have the time to check out all the pages on others' blogs?
Oh and as my blog following creeps ever closer to the 500 mark I have scheduled an author interview with Book Giveaway for next week.
I love your tab heading "soap box"! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I had all the time in the world and didn't have to work a 9-5 full time job so I'd read bloggers' tabs and sub pages and links and what have you!
Unfortunately that's not the case for me so I tend to keep to the main blog page.
Take care
x
I tend to click the tabs on a new blog that I find, but once it becomes a regular read I'm afraid they get forgotten.
ReplyDeleteLike Sarah said, I think I check out people's main pages the most when I first discover them and after that I mostly just read their posts. But you never know when an agent (stop laughing) might stumble by and click on the pages, so I think they are smart to have on the blog.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I had my blog for about six months before I even figured out how to make a new page!
I wish I had more time to explore everyone's blogs. It is so much fun and informative! I have NO tabs on my blog. Maybe I should reconsider! :)
ReplyDeleteYour tabs look great. I have a few, but got rid of some a while back when there was the malware scare that was going around the blogs. I removed my awards and other things that had links in case the problem was in any of those. Let's face it--I panicked. I've decided to stop doing the awards on my blog, though I do acknowledge any receipt of them. Eventually I'll go back and do tabs on all of my blogs.

I don't have tabs yet :( I post everything I feel noteworthy in the left sidebar.
ReplyDeleteI do check out "tabs" and pages on other blogs. Not always; but when I'm in a mood to just browse. Lots of useful info and sometimes its inspired me to either offer a critique, or gets me to buy a published works. Or just to stop by more often :)
I don't feel they are a wast of time for a blogger to put them up. You never know who is looking and not commenting . .
And your's was interesting, and I'm glad you brought them to my attention. Wow, you have a lot of interesting, varied publications. Congratulations on all your accomplishments. It is an impressive tab.
Speaking of "tab"; my mother used to drink Tab cola. This was before Diet Pepsi became all the rage. I remember drinking it occasionally myself; but nothing will ever usurp Diet Pepsi again . .

I don't have tabs yet, but I like the idea of putting them on my blog. Your tabs look good.
ReplyDeleteI don't keep many tabs. When I visit, I like to click on Bios or Bibliographies. Oh, and pictures. I love to see pics of the author's location and pets.
ReplyDeleteHi Madeleine. I think the tab is mainly for our own selves to keep our content filed. I really don't think anyone looks at them. Mine are no way up to date except my Book Reading Challenge tab, which is good to keep track of my reading. Now we've got goodreads, there's not much point in that anymore.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do a complete new blog over Christmas. I'm checking out blogs to see what I like. Yours is one of them.
And BTW, you are the winner of Kate Walker's book! You'll need to email her to give her your deets. Congrats! She's doing another post for us this Wednesday, on plotting. I hope you can come by!

Hi Madeleine .. well done and I love the shout out for Tabs ... I do notice them, but usually don't visit - just occasionally.
ReplyDeleteThere's only so much time in a day sadly .. time? what's that??!!
only 5 weeks to Christmas?! Cheers Hilary
