Good manners have gone
In a world where rights prevail
Who's responsible?
Something we never teach now
That must be progress?
The ramblings of aspiring author, Madeleine Sara, her dreams to become published and her trials and tribulations along the way. Plus other writerly nuggets of wisdom! Apologies for my typos, I get very cold hands with Raynauds and sometimes there's a persistent kittie on my lap, nudging my hand as I type.
Hi Madeleine .. congratulations on a year of blogging .. and yes - we all need to be more aware and thoughtful .. lots of pleases and thank yous .. smiles and laughter, sharing together .. have a happy day .. Hilary
ReplyDeleteI sort of ranted about the same thing, but just having to do with viewing a movie. As someone who worked in schools for years, I can tell you a great many children weren't being taught manners. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely keep this post in mind in making my blogger rounds.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week Madeleine.
Madeleine,
ReplyDeleteTrue enough. Rights overrule good common courtesies. Incisive observation!
How true this is. So sad.
ReplyDeleteOh such apt and wise haikus!! Much needed!! Thank you! take care

This was lovely, Maddie.
ReplyDeletei dont understand how some people can be so rude!
ReplyDeleteliked your haikus =)
Madeleine,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it was by accident or design but as I think of parts of my country being looted and burnt, your first haiku totally reflects how I feel.
One thing I could never master is a haiku. Good manners do seem to be gone, especially in teens. Wish at times that we could turn back the hands of time. :)
ReplyDeleteNice haiku! And congratulations!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Madeleine! Congratulations on your Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I agree your Haiku is spot on! I know who is responsible but saying would be rude ; )
ReplyDeleteManners. I see the public every Friday & Saturday night. Don't get me started on that one -- the parents as bad as their kids. :-O
ReplyDeleteHappy blogaversary! I've enjoyed bumping into you and your poignant haikus.
Happy Blogversary! So delighted to have found you and your unique talents.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Happy one year blogversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy one year anniversary! Mine is on the 14th!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I wish you many successful years of blogging ahead :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your one year at blogging Madeleine.... and our society inculcates attitudes, ideas, or habits by persistent instructions I suppose!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a year! I think we should go back to teaching social etiquette :)
