Scented Haiku

This week's theme: Scents

Brewed to perfection
Rich aroma of coffee
Bitter sweet bean smell
New shed, fresh and sweet
Woody scent warming my nose
Naturally good

Artificial scents
Joss sticks and essential oils
Give me a headache..

Horrid accident
Gran's nose and taste buds damaged
Cardboard smells and taste

  1. I'm off to get another cup of good coffee - your haiku just inspired me to! Yay! take care

  2. I can't decide whether I like the coffee or the wood one, better. Usually when you pen these, I have a definite favorite but between those two, I can't decide. :)

  3. Cardboard smells and taste? Poor Gran. =[

  4. Poor Gran! Hopefully that will pass...?

I love the smell of coffee, but can't stand the taste of it :)

    Great scent haikus!

  5. Those coffee beans look amazing, a shame that coffee makes me cramp :o(

  6. I really enjoyed this post! Haiku made fun! Nicely done.

  7. Thanks everyone. My Gran died in the 1980's. She never regained her sense of taste and smell. It's something we all take for granted so I wanted to add that aspect of the theme. :O)

  8. Coffee has been my special friend even when I was very young. I must now go make some fresh rich coffee.

  9. You're so right, there is nothing like the real thing! I hope Gran recovers her sense of smell and taste soon!

  10. I wrote about the scent of coffee as well

I love the smell of fresh sunday.

    Artificial scents trigger my migraines

  11. I love the coffee haiku. I am not a coffee drinker but I love the smell! :)

  12. So true about the artificial scents!

Your haikus are as good as your Limericks!

  13. These haikus made me jealous (cause I cannot write them). Just like always, I loved the haikus, Madeleine.

  14. Love the haikus! Love the coffee one in particular. It makes me want a cup, even though I don't drink coffee.:)

  15. Smell of fresh brewed coffee ~~ yum!!!

  16. Rachna, shame we can't write them together then you'd know you could, too.

    Bless you Story Queen.

Yes my poor Gran never recovered. It must have been horrid for her.

Sounds like the coffee one wins out LOL! ;O)

  17. Love your haikus--especially the one about the shed. So creative! Great blog!
