I forgot the sunscreen; my mobile phone charger; our beach towel and my sun hat.
We enjoyed the fabulous beach at St. Ives with water in all shades of indigo blues and aquamarines.
We ate very well
We braved the freezing sea water along the causeway to St. Michael's Mount
Of course the rain is pouring now... How about you?
BTW I also came up with a new Blogfest idea. See my post this Thursday and grab the button.
Hi Madeleine .. raining - oh no .. it's still bright sunshine here!
ReplyDeleteMy land .. my mother's land, my grandmother's land .. and in fact my father's grandfather retired and died at 100 in Carbis Bay in 1953!
Mum's flat had a view across to Penzance Bay .. and her business was in Newlyn .. wonderful to see 'home' again ..
Lovely part of the world and so pleased you had such fantastic weather ..
Made my day - love the post and pictures .. my lighthouse .. we used to play on the rocks opposite as kids .. sorreeee .. better stop reminiscing now!
Welcome back .. Hilary

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Thank God Madeleine, you remembered to join your hubbie for the holiday, else he would have been very disappointed ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos -- I too forgot my sunscreen yesterday at the beach, and now I look like Dr. Zoidberg on Futurama.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you in jacket and sun hat - just about sums up the unpredictability of British weather! And yes, it's raining here too (although we had three lovely days so I can't complain!)
ReplyDeleteIt seems you forgot all the important things :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, Madeleine. You seem to be having a wonderful time in all of them.... I simply love beaches. Can't get enough of them...
Aww, how nice of him to whisk you away to such a beautiful place. We've had our share of cool and rainy, it's finally been pretty nice here.
ReplyDeleteAnd everytime I pack, I forget something important. Usually my hairbrush!

There is a wonderful chain in Texas called Le Madeleine's. I haven't eaten there in ages and I miss it so. Your lovely post is making my mouth water. Glad you enjoyed your weekend!

ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing. I have only been to a beach once in my life. I was eleven and remember it burned my feet. I must go back some day with shoes. Hehehe.

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful weekend. We did this way. The most perfect summer weather, which I think is a first for Oregon since I've been here. [Going on 14 years]. Was just fantastic. Perfect skies for the observatory and nice outings with the husband unit.
Looks like a fun day at the beach!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a smashing good time! Nothing like a day at the beach and a good meal with your better half. Glad you enjoyed the day!
