As you can see I am on target so far with one 100 word Flash Fiction story called Alley Cats written and submitted as a competition entry
and one 2,000 word Short Story On Reflection that I edited and polished and then submitted.
(The log line for which I wrestled with here: http://scribbleandedit.blogspot.com/2010/11/logline-blogfest.html )

I am trying not to have sleepless nights about whether they will be successful, but the jury is out on that so far.
In the meantime, I am writing another short story that is going to be between 2,000-2,500 words which has a rather complex theme about a woman who chooses to lock herself in a room.
Whispering sweet nothings?
No, she's about to let him know that this is her special seat.

I'll catch up with all your blogs soon.

Your logline no.5 is the best!!! It cries out to be a longer story, no?? A novel, peut-etre?!?! :-)

Intriguing concept. Why would anyone choose to lock themselves in a room?
ReplyDeleteThanks Old Kitty
ReplyDeleteYes they are my kitties, Tarragon and Borage. Hibby also thought it might make a longer story, though I saw it as a short story at the time.
Ah yes Angela, I thought that might create some intrigue. :O)
The idea behind your story interests me. Good luck writing it!
ReplyDeleteWell done with keeping to your targets, and a very intriguing story idea, best of luck with it and the competitions!
ReplyDeleteHuh. That sounds reaaaally interesting! Keep us posted on it! I would love to read a story about that!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a successful first week!
ReplyDeleteI should be posting my Now Showing entry either Saturday or Sunday. Promise.
Mountains of ironing?? Yuck. Just throw them in a dryer with a wet towel like I do. Then don't look in a mirror for days. :)

Bravo to you and your writing streak!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of a woman who locks herself in her room. Are you familliar with the inspiration for the Beatles song, Dear Prudence? Pardon my random association here but that was my first thought.
Congrats! I'd like to read the "complex" one; sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Guys
ReplyDeleteI have not heard about the Dear Prudence inspiration, now I'm intrigued. LOL! :O)
I can understand why a person would lock themselves in a room. I've wanted to before. I'm very curious about the reasons your character wants to....
ReplyDeleteWay to go staying on task!
I love the picture of your[?] cats! too cute!
