Write 1 Sub1 Update

As you can see I am on target so far with one 100 word Flash Fiction story called Alley Cats written and submitted as a competition entry

and one 2,000 word Short Story On Reflection that I edited and polished and then submitted.
(The log line for which I wrestled with here: http://scribbleandedit.blogspot.com/2010/11/logline-blogfest.html )

I am trying not to have sleepless nights about whether they will be successful, but the jury is out on that so far.

In the meantime, I am writing another short story that is going to be between 2,000-2,500 words which has a rather complex theme about a woman who chooses to lock herself in a room.

Whispering sweet nothings?
No, she's about to let him know that this is her special seat.

I have mountains of ironing and a guest coming soon for coffee, so I must fly.
I'll catch up with all your blogs soon.

Thought I'd add another reminder about my NOW SHOWING  blogfest, for anyone who wants a quick writing exercise. Do tell your blogging writerly friends about it. Thanks
Linkey closes Jan 14th. Thanks to everyone who has already entered.

  3. Thanks Old Kitty
Yes they are my kitties, Tarragon and Borage. Hibby also thought it might make a longer story, though I saw it as a short story at the time.
Ah yes Angela, I thought that might create some intrigue. :O)

  8. Mountains of ironing?? Yuck. Just throw them in a dryer with a wet towel like I do. Then don't look in a mirror for days. :)

  9. Bravo to you and your writing streak!

Speaking of a woman who locks herself in her room. Are you familliar with the inspiration for the Beatles song, Dear Prudence? Pardon my random association here but that was my first thought.

  12. I can understand why a person would lock themselves in a room. I've wanted to before. I'm very curious about the reasons your character wants to....

Way to go staying on task!
