Resolutions Haiku

My promise is made
A New Year's Resolution
How long will it last?

I've taken a vow
I meant it when I said it.
Things seem different now.

A crisp New Year dawns
Inertia defies challenge
No resolution.

  1. These are lovely...quite solemn and poignant. You always produce great haiku.

  2. Beautiful haikus...
The last one is my favorite though..
    "A crisp New Year dawns
    Inertia defies challenge
    No resolution.".....nice..

No resolutions for me too :)

  3. Very sobering haikus after the adrenalin rush of the new year!! Excellent - thanks for sharing! Take care

  4. I admit I haven't made resolutions for a few years now. Is that bad?

  5. Gentle haiku - and very well said! The voice of reason :)

By the way, I updated today's post to reflect the new word for next week. I've got to stop doing these things in the middle of the night...

    Happy New Year!

  6. Wonderful. I hope you keep them! They were good!

  7. I'm crossing my fingers for my new year's resolutions, too! :)

  8. Bless you all. I hope those of you who have made resolutions are able to enjoy keeping them and those who don't keep them don't feel so bad. :O)

  9. LOL it's too early to give up on your resolution already!

  10. Lovely Haiku! I'm still working on my resolutions...I usually don't finalize them until February. That probably says a lot about me, LOL!

  11. Hi Madeleine,
Things are different now. I sense a positive energy within the great blogging community.
    A thoughtful haiku.
With respect and kind wishes, Gary

  12. Great Haiku Madeleine - as always.

The second one stood out to me especially

  13. These are great haikus! I like to think of them more like goals rather than resolutions :)

  14. lovely haikus. just loved them all. :)
