My Blog SCRIBBLE AND EDIT reflects my love of creative writing, design, literature and film. Check out my Poems & haiku, Romantic Flash Fiction; Blogfest Entries; Blog Awards and other prose and Flash Fiction. Do bear with me, as I will reciprocate with those genuine commenters on my blog.  BTW I sometimes withhold comments for challenges until later. Comments about the post are much appreciated. Thank you.
Comments based on others' comments can lead to misunderstandings that spread like whispers!

The only SURE way for me to follow you back is if you leave a comment. However, if your Blog has a black background and white writing then it makes my eyes squiffy...

Friendly Blogging ~ Awards

I can now admit that when I first set post into the blogging community in August 2010, I couldn't help but notice all the wonderful awards adorning the established blogs I visited. I thought wistfully: I wonder whether I will ever receive any such fabulous accolades?

Well since then I have set up a separate BLOG AWARDS tab to announce all the amazing awards that all you amazing bloggers have bestowed upon me. I am in awe, delighted and ecstatic. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

I'm beginning to feel like someone with a cigarette card or stamp collection LOL!

My latest award to-date is The Friendly Blogger Award given to me by Penny & Gary of Klahanie >

The hardest part is passing on the award to other worthy bloggers who haven't yet received it without duplicating the accolade for them whilst neglecting others.

I've gone a bit mad this time and chosen a few lovely bloggers who have supported me when I've been feeling low.

So to express my thanks:

Maria Zannini
Denise L'Aussie
MPax
Sarah of Empty White Pages
Miranda Hardy
MJFifield
Old Kitty
Mary of Giggles & Guns
Susan Kaye Quinn
Rachna
Karen G
Christine Rains
The broken nib
Golden Eagle
LGSmith
Hilary Melton-Butcher
Margo Benson
Alex J Cavanagh
kaykuala
Trisha
Lynda R Young
Jennifer Shirk

How do you manage your awards?
Do you have a separate page? Or maybe an animated film strip?

  1. I am honored. Great way to open my eyes -- and to be on such an awesome list.
I admit there's a couple I don't recognize but will be checking them out today.
    Thanks for the honor, Madeleine.

  8. Aw, thanks for that. When I started blogging I didn't even know there were such things as blog awards. Thanks again!

  9. Congratulations on all your awards, Madeleine! You asked what others do about all their awards...Well, I just recently posted an "Award Free Blog" photo. Not that I've rec'd that many, but it does get overwhelming sometimes. I added my own words above and below the photo, too. "Please no more awards." and "I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy!" :-) Love your blog!

  10. Congrats to you and to everyone you've passed the awards on to! I must admit, I'm the worst at awards!

  11. Congrats all!

I love to put my awards on my right sidebar. I smile every time I see them.

  12. Thank you Madeline for the lovely award! I love to get them too, and I used to put them on my sidebar with the thank you to who gave them to me, then I got behind and felt bad because I know some people weren't getting their awards posted and others were, and eventually I took them down altogether and gave up the practice of award-bestowing.

But I still like to get them! Did you really want all that history LOL?

  13. Congrats for your award!

As for awards, I have a page separate for them. It makes it easier to have them all in one place and the links to who gave me the awards.

  16. Thank you so much, Madeleine.
I put my awards on a separate page. It's neat and tidy that way.

  17. I put them in a separate blog, called the Trophy Cabinet, but am not fussed about awards, much prefer comments.

Don't put them on my primary blog as they just make it look messy.

  18. Thank you so much for those kind words Madeleine, and for the award. I love to get them but I'm terrible at posting about them. I tried to put them on a separate page but the pictures wouldn't go how I wanted them to.
Please may i steal your list idea?

  19. Thank you, Miranda! Congrats on your award.

On my former blog, I did a slide show. Now I just try to remember to thank people who bestow them on me. I don't always succeed. My memory stinks. I think it's filled with too many projects. lol

  20. See how bad my memory is, Madeleine. Gees.

  21. Congrats on your award!! Right now I have my awards down my sidebar. If I get many more, I'll make a separate tab so they won't scroll forever or make the page take longer to load. :)

  22. Yes I agree most people have a love/hate relationship with awards as they are quite a responsibility, but fabulous to receive.

  23. Hey Madeleine,
There you go. How honoured are you getting such a thoughtful award from Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star. Arf! Arf!
It was her pleasure to forward this award upon your kind and friendly self. Many congrats to those fine, friendly folks you bestowed this aware onto. I just know they are really neat folks.
Oh, Penny thanks you for putting up a picture of her adorable self and of me, the strange human she so kindly allows to live with her.
In friendship, Penny and co-starring, shy, humble Gary :)

  24. Oh what a nice surprise!!! Thank you so much!!!

I used to put my awards in my sidebar. But I don't think that's working. I need to organize them better.
